Pou: The Original is an online version of the mobile game that emerged from the late 1990s Tamagotchi craze. Tamagotchi was a digital pet from Japan, and came as an egg-shaped device you could wear on a keychain. The player could care for this pet by feeding it and playing with it, and the Tamagotchi would grow (or, if you neglected it, it would die). Tamagotchi was hugely successful, and more pet care games started appearing. Pou was one of the popular virtual pet games that came out more than a decade later, and was created by Paul Salameh.
The aim is to take good care of Pou. What is Pou, actually? A potato, an alien, or perhaps a lump of poop? Nobody seems to know for sure, and there is plenty of speculation. Whatever Pou is, the game is a lot of fun. Keep Pou healthy and help him grow up. You can entertain Pou by playing various mini games together, dress him up, and collect funny accessories and additional characters.
